It’s about a mile to the Plaza, and did some sight-seeing and shopping, took tons of pictures and had breakfast at La Nueva Central, an extremely popular restaurant! The incredible thing about El Paso is that even staying downtown, you are only minutes to great outdoor destinations like the Franklin Mountains State Park, the Wyler Aerial Tramway, and much more! We watched the FREE movie one evening at the Gene Roddenberry Planetarium, click HERE for more information.Īnother GREAT thing about the Hotel Indigo’s location is that we just a short walk away from Mexico! We left our car parked safely in the hotel, and walked across the bridge over the Rio Grande into Ciudad Juarez one morning. The pool was our absolute favorite thing about the hotel, and where we stayed most of the time! The kids loved swimming, and I loved ordering dinner and eating in the fun outdoor beds! We also made smores one night at the fire ring! The nearby hotel restaurant and bar seemed to always be busy, but most evenings we had the pool to ourselves! We loved EVERYTHING about the Hotel Indigo, from the staff that seemed like friends, to it’s GREAT location, with restaurants right around the corner! When we arrived, our concierge bumped us up to a higher floor, assuring us of a terrific view! Since we were in and out each day, keep in mind you need to tip your valet, too. Valet Parking is the only parking, please check website for daily rates. This hotel is 1.2 mi (2 km) from University of Texas at El Paso and 1.7 mi (2.7 km) from Paso del Norte International Bridge.RoomsMake yourself at home in one. To add insult to injury, I was rudely questioned by the valet upon check out as to why we had so much luggage - sorry for the inconvenience! We will not return. After a terrific tip from El Paso 411, we stayed a few days at the Hotel Indigo in Downtown El Paso, and couldn’t have asked for a better stay! We loved EVERYTHING about the hotel, including the terrific view we had of the Franklin Mountains and the star that lights up each evening! When I was 19, this might have been ok, but we need our sleep, and this seemed beyond ridiculous for a hotel to have rooms where your bed vibrates with loud bass from the hotel bar until all hours of the night. Once we were placed in a room, we were kept awake until well after 1:00 am with our room vibrating from the club somewhere below us in the hotel. The first room that we were placed in smelled so terribly of sewage that we could not sleep there. We were offered a discount on our room to make up for the inconvenience, but at check-out, there was no discount that I could see on our bill, and when I questioned it, I was shrugged off by the clerk at the desk. ![]() Our reservation for connecting rooms for our family was not honored, and front desk staff suggested to me that this mistake was not their problem. Hotel Indigo El Paso Downtown, an IHG Hotel: To Indigo or not to Indigo.NO - See 683 traveler reviews, 441 candid photos, and great deals for Hotel Indigo El Paso Downtown, an IHG Hotel at Tripadvisor. There is potential there for this hotel to be good, but sadly, it falls short. Some patrons just want to hang out on the patio, have a few drinks, and catch up with family and friends instead of screaming over music. They need to decide if they are a hotel or a night club. Someone else in our party had a room closer to the pool and said he couldn't fall asleep due to the noise. We couldn't even hear each other talking at the table near the pool. (Restaurant staff downstairs was phenomenal and offered to bring a dessert order up to the pool.) The music was insanely loud in the evening. Servers were hit and miss they were either completely on top of things, or slow and forgetful which caused some in our large party to be without food or drinks for quite some time. ![]() Cons: 5th floor staff was mixed manager (we assume that was her position) was unwelcoming to families with children (even though we are huge tippers), but the bartenders were great. ![]() Pros: awesome pool and the front office staff was very polite. We stayed here for two nights and had a very mixed experience.
