Also the risks are pretty low, you can always reinstall your games, settings are stored in the steam cloud (or whatever they call it). installing games on a ntfs drive from steamos is probably not supported, but in my experience the ntfs drivers in linux are pretty good. exiting to desktop must be enabled trought settings > interface > enable exit to desktop. restore anything from its quarantine that belongs to Wallpaper Engine and was falsely deleted.
